No special precautions are required. As always, pay attention to secure payment methods.

FakeshopAI automatically checked Tomhemps (tomhemps.com) on 2026-07-08 for typical fake shop characteristics. 31 check points were evaluated, covering operator details, legal notices, payment methods, technology, domain history and reputation. The individual findings are listed below.

Who runs this site?

Warning signals

• PayPal support PayPal is not mentioned as a payment method on the pages checked; a payment route with buyer protection is therefore not recognisable.
• Security headers The server sets only some of the common protections. Present: protection against file type confusion (X-Content-Type-Options). Not set: enforced encryption (HSTS), a content security policy (CSP) and protection against embedding in other sites (X-Frame-Options). On its own this is not evidence of fraud.
• Payment methods Only a single common payment method is recognisable; secured alternatives are missing.

In the shop's favour

• Trusted Shops The domain is listed as a certified shop in the Trusted Shops member directory - the provider has passed an external audit and is listed there by name.
• WHOIS According to WHOIS the domain has been registered for several years, or its registration data has been unchanged for years - an indication of a permanently operated presence.
• Domain age The domain has existed for around 9 years and therefore has a long operating history - fake shops usually disappear again after a few months.
• DNS configuration The domain has a complete email configuration with MX and SPF records - the shop can therefore actually send and receive email under its own address.
• Trade register Commercial register number and register court are stated and the entry was confirmed online - there is therefore a genuinely existing, registered company behind the shop.
• External reputation feeds The external security databases queried hold no warning about this domain - neither for malware nor for phishing.

Further checks

• Imprint The shop has a legal notice with reachable contact details (email or phone) - in a dispute there is a named contact to address a complaint to.
• Server location The site's server is located in San Francisco, US and therefore within the EU/US area - a legal area in which claims against the operator can be enforced if necessary.
• SSL certificate The connection is encrypted; the current certificate was issued on 23 May 2026. Encryption says nothing about the operator's trustworthiness, though: a fake shop gets it free of charge too.
• Fake shop lists The domain does not appear on any of the fake shop warning lists checked - warning lists lag behind newly created shops, however, so this is no clean bill of health.
• Legal pages Terms and conditions, right of withdrawal and privacy policy are linked on the site - the mandatory distance selling information is therefore present.
• Redirects The address does not redirect to a third-party domain - the shop is actually operated under the address you opened.
• Social media presence The linked social media profiles are reachable - the provider can therefore also be checked outside its own website.
• Contact data plausibility The contact details given are plausible: the email address belongs to the shop domain and the phone number is correctly formatted - fake shops mostly use free webmail addresses here.
• Template/clone fingerprint No known fake shop has the same template fingerprint as this site - a mass-produced kit of the kind fraud networks use is therefore not detectable.
• Content depth The site has an extensive structure with many subpages - that points to a product range grown over time rather than a quickly assembled sales page.

What we could not verify

These checks returned no result – for example because the site blocked our request or a registry was unreachable. This is explicitly NOT a suspicion: it only means we lack the basis for a statement here.
