Check an email
Forward the suspicious email to a disposable address. We read the sender, links and attachments and show you what we noticed.
Step 1
Create a check address
One click gives you an address that is valid for 24 hours and accepts up to three emails.

Create an address
One click is enough. The address accepts up to three emails and is valid for 24 hours.
Forward the email as an attachment
As an attachment we see the headers of the original email and can check the sender. A normal forward also works, but then this check is missing.
Read the report
The report appears on this page. You also get it by email at the address you forwarded from.
Alternative
Or: upload the email as a file
Save the email as an .eml file and upload it here, 10 MB at most. In Gmail this is called “Download message”, in Outlook on the web “Download”.
Before you forward
Do not forward an email in which you already entered bank or login details. Change your password right away and talk to your bank instead.
Has money already gone? Call your bank first and report it to the police. The check can wait. What you can do after a transfer
We delete the original email right after the check, at the latest after 24 hours. We delete the report after 7 days. We only keep features of the senders such as domains, IBANs and phone numbers, with no link to you.
Common schemes right now
A selection from current warnings by German consumer advice centres and the Federal Network Agency.
“Update” your banking app or TAN method
A short deadline, a link to “verify” and the threat of blocking your account. Banks do not send links for this.
EmailText
ELSTER or tax office
A refund is supposedly waiting and the deadline ends the same day. ELSTER never asks for card details.
Email
Streaming payment failed
Netflix, Disney+, Spotify or Apple supposedly want to block your account within 24 hours. Sign in directly in the app and check there.
