A shop seal we re-check every day

New customers hesitate at a shop they do not know. The seal shows them whether your shop passed our most recent daily check. If it no longer passes, the seal is suspended and says so.

How the seal looks in your shop

Three of six variants, light and dark, with sample data and a made-up domain. In your shop the same element shows the actual state of your seal.

Four steps to your seal

  1. Company check

You submit company data and register proof. It is the same check as for brand protection.

  2. Prove your domain

Set a DNS record or upload a file. That proves the domain belongs to you.

  3. Your shop is checked

Your shop runs through the full check. If it passes, the seal is approved.

  4. Embed

One line of code in your footer. From then on we keep checking daily, without you doing anything.

What we check every day

The same check we use to find fake shops runs over your shop every day. Requirements, interval, suspension and withdrawal are set out on the check criteria page.

  • Complete, findable legal notice
  • Register entry consistent and active
  • Valid encryption
  • A payment method with buyer protection offered
  • Reachable contact details
  • Withdrawal policy and terms present
  • No entries on warning lists
  • Third-party seals shown link to their issuer
  • No relevant warnings found online

If someone copies your seal, it shows a warning

The seal is valid on your domain and on its www version. If someone embeds it on another site, including another subdomain, a warning appears there. We record where that happened.

On your domain

beispiel-shop.example

On another site

fremde-seite.example

Example with invented addresses.

  • Warning instead of confirmation

On other sites it visibly shows “Not for this site”.

  • Every foreign embed is logged

Every embed on another site is recorded with origin and timestamp. You see the list in your account.

  • Domain proof up front

A seal is only issued once a DNS record or file proves the domain is yours.

What the seal is not

The seal confirms an automated check. These services are not part of it:

  • No buyer protection

We do not cover purchases and do not refund money.

  • No legal texts

We do not supply terms and conditions, a withdrawal notice or a privacy policy.

  • No protection against cease-and-desist letters

We do not represent you in the event of a cease-and-desist letter and are not liable for your texts.

  • No test purchase

We do not place orders. We do not see delivery, goods or customer service.

  • No legal review

We check whether a legal notice, terms and a withdrawal notice are present. We do not check whether they hold up legally.

The details behind the seal

The seal shows today’s status

Your shop changes: certificates expire, a legal notice gets lost in a relaunch, register entries change. The live seal follows the result of the daily check. Your customers see the current status.

Does this shop pass the check today?

  • Yes, check passed
  • No, seal suspended

If the result changes, the seal changes. You do not need to do anything.

A copied seal image proves nothing

During our checks we find shops with copied seal graphics. The image says “verified”, yet no check ever took place. A seal that can be downloaded and embedded on any site proves nothing.

SEAL AS AN IMAGE FILE

seal-2025-final.png

An image file can be copied and embedded on any other site. It shows the status on the day it was issued.

LIVE SEAL

The status comes from the server and is cached in the browser for up to five minutes. Bound to your domain. Shows the status of the latest daily check.

The certificate page shows the full history

One click on the seal leads to a public certificate page. It states what was checked, when it was last checked and with what result. The history also contains the periods in which the seal was suspended.

  • Checked domain and seal identifier
  • Timestamp of the last check
  • The individual criteria passed
  • Status history including suspensions
How the seal gets into your shop

Six variants, four ways to embed: script, web component, image or iframe. The configurator in the merchant area generates the finished code. Previews, example code and notes for Shopify, WooCommerce, Shopware and other platforms are on a page of their own.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if my shop fails the check once?

The seal is suspended and says so openly. Once the cause is fixed and the next check succeeds, it is reactivated automatically. You do not need to apply for anything. If your shop could not be reached during a check, we check again after about two hours. If the second check also fails, the seal is suspended. If our own check returns no result for three days because of an error on our side, the seal is suspended as well. Until then the status stays unchanged.

Is this a certification?

No. We are not a certification body. The seal states one thing: this domain passes our automated, daily repeated check according to a published methodology. Anyone can verify that statement on the certificate page.

What if someone copies my seal?

The seal is valid on your domain and on its www version. On any other site, including another subdomain, it shows a notice that it is not valid there. We record origin and timestamp. You see every foreign embed in your account.

Does the seal slow my shop down?

No. The snippet loads asynchronously. The seal is a vector graphic of a few kilobytes and is cached in the browser for up to five minutes. Your page does not wait for it.

Who can get a seal?

Any shop that passes the company check, proves its domain and passes the shop check. All three are required. No exception can be bought for an extra fee.

What does it cost and how long does it run?

The seal is billed annually and runs for one year. It does not renew automatically. You renew it yourself. The daily check is included in the price.
